What is a .Sketch file?
A Sketch file is a UI-design document from the Mac app Sketch. Created and opened by Sketch.
- Did you know
- Sketch was released in 2010 and helped define the modern app-design workflow before Figma.
- Sketch is made by the Dutch firm Bohemian Coding, now Sketch B.V., and won an Apple Design Award in 2012.
- Under the hood a .Sketch file is really a ZIP archive - rename it to .zip and you can browse the files inside.
- What Analyser reads
- Identify design-app files: Figma (FIG), Sketch, Affinity Photo/Designer/Publisher, Procreate, GIMP (XCF), Krita (KRA), Paint.NET, and Substance.
- Depth of analysis
- .Sketch is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
- Open a .Sketch file
- Drag a .Sketch file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It is identified entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
