What is a .MMF file?
MMF (Yamaha SMAF) carried ringtones and sound to early mobile phones.

- SMAF was Yamaha’s rich ringtone format in the era before MP3 ringtones.
- SMAF was devised by Yamaha and, unlike a plain MIDI tune, can bundle its own instrument samples, PCM sound and even graphics inside one file.
- Playback relied on Yamaha’s MA-series sound chips fitted to feature phones from makers like Samsung, Motorola and Panasonic.
