What is a .X_B file?
X_B is the binary form of a Parasolid solid-model exchange file. Read by SolidWorks, Siemens NX and more.
- Did you know
- Parasolid version 1.0 shipped in 1988, and Siemens now licenses the kernel to hundreds of other software products.
- The .x_b extension marks the binary form of a Parasolid transmit file, more compact than its text twin .x_t.
- Binary Parasolid files also appear under the longer extension .xmt_bin, just as the text form is sometimes written .xmt_txt.
- What Analyser reads
- Identify neutral CAD exchange formats: Parasolid (X_T, X_B) and ACIS (SAT). STEP and IGES get a full 3D viewer - see the 3D model section.
- Depth of analysis
- .X_B is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
- Open a .X_B file
- Drag a .X_B file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It is identified entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
