What is a .HDD file?
HDD is a Parallels Desktop virtual hard-disk image.

- The HDD file is the virtual drive a Parallels virtual machine boots from.
- By default a Parallels HDD is an “expanding” disk that only grows on the Mac as the virtual machine actually fills it, rather than reserving its full size up front.
- The .hdd image normally lives tucked inside the virtual machine’s .pvm bundle on disk.

- .HDD is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
