What is a .DUMP file?
A .dump file is a raw export of a database or a program’s memory.

- Dumps capture a system’s state for backup, transfer or debugging.
- A database dump is a “logical” backup - a script of SQL statements that rebuilds the tables and data when replayed.
- A core dump is the opposite kind - a snapshot of a crashed program’s memory, used to work out why it failed.

- .DUMP is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
