What is a .BSON file?
BSON is the binary JSON form used by the MongoDB database.

- BSON is how MongoDB stores documents on disk and over the wire.
- Unlike JSON, the fields in a BSON document keep a defined order, and nested documents and arrays carry their own length prefixes for fast skipping.
- BSON adds types JSON lacks, including a 64-bit Date, a Decimal128 number, raw binary data and MongoDB’s 12-byte ObjectId.

- .BSON is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
