What is a .M2TS file?
M2TS is the AVCHD/Blu-ray transport-stream video format used by camcorders.
- Did you know
- M2TS is the transport-stream form of AVCHD, also used on Blu-ray discs.
- M2TS is a modified MPEG-2 Transport Stream used as the BDAV container on Blu-ray discs and AVCHD camcorders.
- Sony and Panasonic jointly developed the underlying high-definition camcorder format.
- On a disc, the actual video lives in M2TS files inside a STREAM folder under the BDMV directory.
- In AVCHD form it is restricted to H.264 video with Dolby Digital or uncompressed LPCM audio.
- What Analyser shows you
- Read the container, codec, resolution, and frame rate of MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM video, step through frames, and extract the audio track. Raw H.264/H.265 elementary streams (.h264/.265) are remuxed to MP4 in-browser so they play too.
- Open a .M2TS file
- Drag a .M2TS file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It opens entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
