What is a .SWM file?
SWM is a Windows Imaging file split into pieces to fit on smaller media.

- A WIM too big for a DVD or FAT32 drive is split into numbered SWM parts.
- The split parts are read-only, and tools like DISM can later merge them back into a single WIM image.
- A common split size is 4700 MB so each part fits on a single-layer recordable DVD.

- .SWM is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
