What is a .PPM file?
PPM is a plain, uncompressed colour image from the Netpbm toolkit.

- PPM stores 24-bit colour as eight bits each of red, green and blue, with no compression at all.

- .PPM is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
