What is a .KSplat file?
KSplat is a compressed format for 3D Gaussian splat scenes.
- Did you know
- KSplat packs photoreal Gaussian splat captures into a smaller file.
- KSplat is the native format of the Three.js GaussianSplats3D viewer, a trimmed-down and compressed rework of the original .ply splat files.
- Because KSplat already matches the renderer’s internal layout, scenes saved in it load faster than equivalent .ply or .splat files.
- What Analyser reads
- Identify more 3D, CAD and scene files: Google Draco compressed meshes, Gaussian splats (KSplat), Universal 3D, Dassault 3DXML, DirectX .x models, Qubicle voxels, Wings3D, Autodesk Revit (RVT/RFA and templates, build version from BasicFileInfo), Siemens Solid Edge, Navisworks, legacy CATIA V4, terrestrial-scanner point clouds (FARO/Trimble) and legacy binary Visio (.vsd).
- Depth of analysis
- .KSplat is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
- Open a .KSplat file
- Drag a .KSplat file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It is identified entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
