What is a .F3D file?
F3D is a design file from Autodesk Fusion 360. Created and opened by Fusion 360.
- Did you know
- Fusion 360 launched in 2013 as a cloud-based, all-in-one CAD/CAM tool.
- An F3D is built on Autodesk’s ShapeManager kernel and preserves the full parametric Timeline of how the design was constructed.
- Each save of a cloud F3D creates a new version on Autodesk’s servers, letting you roll back the design at any time.
- What Analyser shows you
- Open an Autodesk Fusion 360 design (.f3d) or archive (.f3z) and read what it holds: the document type (part, assembly, drawing or sheet metal), the Fusion document version, the number of solid bodies and embedded appearance assets, and the thumbnail Fusion rendered into the file - shown as the model. The editable geometry is stored as Autodesk ShapeManager BREP, a proprietary format that cannot be rebuilt in the browser, so export to STL, OBJ, STEP or 3MF for the full 3D viewer.
- Open a .F3D file
- Drag a .F3D file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It opens entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
