What is a .VF file?
VF is a project file used by VEGAS Pro. Created and opened by VEGAS Pro.
- Did you know
- The .vf extension is short for Vegas Film and belongs to VEGAS Movie Studio, the consumer edition - VEGAS Pro can open its projects, but Movie Studio cannot open .veg files in return.
- VEGAS started life as a Sonic Foundry audio tool before Sony bought it in 2003 and MAGIX took it over in 2016.
- VEGAS project files reference external media rather than copying it, keeping the project itself small but dependent on the original clips.
- What Analyser shows you
- Open Sony / MAGIX VEGAS Pro (.veg) and VEGAS Movie Studio (.vf) projects in the browser. A .veg is a Sonic Foundry "RIFF GUID" container; Analyser reads the VEGAS version, the project summary (author, copyright, contact), every media generator and video FX used by its plugin id and friendly name (Titles & Text, Solid Color, Cookie Cutter and more), the actual title and text content decoded from the embedded RTF, and the source media and template file paths the project references.
- Open a .VF file
- Drag a .VF file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It opens entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
