What is a .LRC file?
LRC is a synchronised lyrics format that time-stamps each line to a song for karaoke-style display.
- Did you know
- LRC lyrics appeared in the late 1990s alongside the first software MP3 players.
- LRC is short for “LyRiCs”, the format’s own playful spelling of the word.
- It was introduced by Kuo Shiang-shiang’s Lyrics Displayer in Taiwan, one of the first karaoke-style lyric programs.
- An Enhanced LRC variant uses angle-bracket timestamps to highlight individual words as they are sung.
- A .LRC file is plain text, so you can open and edit it in any text editor.
- What Analyser shows you
- Parse .lrc timed-lyric files: read the artist/title/album ID tags and every timestamped line.
- Open a .LRC file
- Drag a .LRC file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It opens entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
