What is a .GEN file?
GEN is a Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) game ROM, run on emulators.

- The Sega Mega Drive, known as the Genesis in North America, launched in 1988.
- The Mega Drive pairs a Motorola 68000 main processor with a Zilog Z80 that mainly drives the sound hardware.
- Later consoles required a “SEGA” string near the start of the ROM, part of the Trademark Security System.
