What is a .CRDOWNLOAD file?
A .crdownload file is an in-progress download created by Google Chrome.
- Did you know
- Chrome adds the .crdownload suffix while a file downloads, removing it once finished.
- Chrome renames the file to its real name and drops the .crdownload suffix only once the download finishes successfully.
- Because the data is incomplete, a .crdownload usually cannot be opened, though Chrome can often resume it from where it stopped.
- What Analyser reads
- Identify BitTorrent files (TORRENT) and their file list, plus partial or incomplete downloads (PART, CRDOWNLOAD).
- Depth of analysis
- .CRDOWNLOAD is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
- Open a .CRDOWNLOAD file
- Drag a .CRDOWNLOAD file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It is identified entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
